My late father, Mr Momtaz Uddin Ahmed and my uncle Monir Ahamed along with his brothers (other uncles named below), are building a mosque in a remote village called Borola, located in Sonaimuri, Noakhali, Bangladesh. This mosque is the only mosque in the northern part of Borola village. Our mission is to provide a place of worship for everyone. My father passed away in 2019 in peace knowing that he and his brothers were starting help the community. The Mosque is named on my late grandfather Mr Serajul Haque.

Starting in the year of 2018, our family decided to start the project. We have donated our land completely for the mosque. Due to the growing Muslim population in our village and also the surrounding villages, a new mosque was a must. Being the only mosque in the area, it will have a great reputation in Borola community. So we planned on build the mosque in a way that can accommodate more Muslims to come and pray. Not only that, we want to provide a learning place for all the youngsters growing up there and older generations. It will also create some job opportunities for the unemployed locals, which will help me to feed their families.

Current Situation

It has been two years and the mosque is still under construction. Our family members and other have contributed more than £20k, but it is still not enough to finish up the whole work. We have completed building the foundation of the mosque but the bulk of the work is still undergoing.

Goal

Currently, the amount of £25,000 is urgently needed to continue the construction of this mosque. It is going to be a multistoried mosque and Madrasa with its own wadu section. In the village, we have qualified people to run the place. My own uncles, are readily available for any service required by the mosque. Also, the loving community of Borola is ready to provide any work necessary for the betterment of this mosque.

I always believed that a mosque should be built by everyone’s contribution, not just one. I want everyone to be part of this mosque. Please help building this “House of Allah” by contributing any amount of money in this holy month of Ramadan.
